Enrollment health impacts more than your school’s finances. It shapes your school’s entire outlook, and touches key aspects of organizational life. At Tassel, we have developed a framework that helps independent and faith-based schools understand their current commitments to healthy enrollment and foster internal alignment regarding areas of opportunity. We call it the Healthy Enrollment™ Model.
The Healthy Enrollment™ Model has three components:
We visualize the Healthy Enrollment™ Model through three interlocking rings, each with its own sub-components that guide our thinking, inform our recommendations, and create a long-term roadmap for year-over-year pursuits.
Focused School Identity
Our school has a clear, distinctive value proposition that aligns our faculty and staff and resonates with right-fit families.
- Positioning Strategy
- Academic & Athletic Branding
- Messageing by Age-&-Stage®
Empowered Enrollment Team
Our school’s enrollment team has the expertise, capacity, resources, and authority to pursue Enrollment Goals and Seasonal Priorities.
- People & Process
- Rhythms & Reporting
- Budgets
Engaged Right-fit Families™
Our school recruits and retains families who value our approach, support our mission, and contribute to a vibrant culture.
- Marketing Platform
- Family Journey
- Age-&-Stage®
The Healthy Enrollment™ Model is simple — only three components — but its implications and applications are sufficient to drive continuous improvement year after year.
The Healthy Enrollment™ Model helps schools:
Align leadership, marketing, and admissions teams around priorities and expectations for the enrollment management function
Establish Seasonal Priorities and Enrollment Goals
Develop a Healthy Enrollment Plan
Track progress through each enrollment cycle
Getting Started with the Healthy Enrollment™ Model
The first step in engaging with the model is to take the Healthy Enrollment™ Diagnostic. This online assessment will help you and your team establish a baseline, identify growth opportunities, and close gaps.
It will take approximately 10 minutes to work through the initial Healthy Enrollment™ Diagnostic. We suggest each team member take the diagnostic individually, including your Head of School. Upon completion, the assessment will generate an intuitive report. If you have multiple team members take the assessment, the report will show where you are aligned and where you have differences of perspective.
You do not have to finish the assessment in a single session. You can save your progress, close the application, and log back in later to continue.
For Tassel clients, we work through a deeper version of the Healthy Enrollment™ Diagnostic twice per year as part of our strategic planning process. The assessment informs Enrollment Goals and Seasonal Priorities in our shared pursuit of not just full enrollment, but healthy enrollment.
